When leadership change is occurring within a firm, you must never forget that you must think evermore about yourself primarily, and the firm secondarily. If the way that the changes are occurring within the firm, or if the changes themselves, do not align with the way that you live, and/or with what YOU want and NEED for your life, then do not stay under the guise that it is for the sake of the firm. Why? Because the firm is not going to keep you for the sake of you. Institutions, and the new people brought in to lead them, inherently serve themselves and their own agendas, regardless of how concerned you are, or have been, about the well-being of the institution itself. Remember, that in YOUR life, YOU are #1. In the business of the institution, IT is #1. Unless ALL of the circumstances between you and the firm are mutually beneficial, one of you is losing, and most likely it will be you and not the institution.
