When my 3 year old son, Isaiah, was in intensive care as a premature infant, I would go up to the hospital after work to sit with him to give Jenni, my wife, a break. It was just the two of us in the little room with a curtain for a door, with the occasional nurse walking in and out. In the early days he looked like a baby bird that the mother pushed out of the nest - red, wrinkled, and eerily still. I would pray for his healing, mull things over in my mind, and surf the web. One afternoon I took my IPhone 3 out of my pocket (overly bulky due to my gigantic heavy duty otter box), and I began searching youtube to find some soothing music to play for him (I really love music - a lot). I pulled up this video (one of my favorites) among others and set my phone next to his head in the opening, letting the tones fill his little plastic enclosure. Isaiah made an astounding recovery thanks to answered prayer and the support of family and friends. The other night I was playing CDs in our living room and this tune made its way into the circulation. I remember this song!, exclaimed Isaiah. Ive listened to many other songs around him much more than this one, but this is the first time hes ever said such a thing. Did he really remember this song from his (pre)infancy? Probably not. But it reminded me of the gracious healing that God was pleased to grant, the God whose love is burning brightly, like moon and stars shine nightly. https://youtube/watch?v=xDDqZ5KVvmI
