When my children suffer, (and to a less intense degree when my friends suffer) whether by a physical worry, an emotional upset, a financial challenge, or a spiritual storm; whether caused by life in general, by another person, or by a misjudgment on their parts, my heart bends over and threatens to break. Today my eldest is in the Philippines, still recovering from cellulitis and from a blood clot in his leg. My other three, as does Steve, have reason to celebrate today, and at the same time to call out for prayer. . . so this mom . . . as do moms all over the world walks about with a slightly cracked heart.
