When my dad was alive, I used to follow him around the property. - TopicsExpress

When my dad was alive, I used to follow him around the property. Many times, I remember him picking up metal and other found objects and putting them in a fork of a tree or over a tree limb probably just to get them out of the way when he mowed with his tractor. Now I can walk around the property and see some of dads tree sculpture/art that has grown into the trees. I have seen people do that on T.V. on garden shows as tree art, but I dont think that was what Dad had in mind when he put the objects there. I find myself doing the same thing now and maybe someday someone will find some of my tree art sculptures. I sure love and miss you dad and thank you for all the quirky traditions I picked up from you. If I ever go back to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Ill be sure to pick up some dried Buffalo crap as a souvenir like you did and proudly display it on the edge of the garden timbers, and tell kids not to touch it, and smile everytime I walk past it until it disintegrates or I use it as a firestarter.
