When my son got back from Iraq, he bought a new sportbike (I told him to buy used). He had a friend who he thought could ride really well, and took me out one night just to watch his friend make passes up and down a twisty stretch of road. He thought his friend could really ride well. I told him, No, your friend is an idiot, a mediocre rider at best, on a very good motorcycle. After a period of riding with him on the highways, compiling a bunch of good rider info on paper for him, it was time for him to head out on his own. Just go ride with his freind(s). He asked me, any words of advice? I said, Yes, dont follow any of your asshole buddies down a twisty road. A few weeks later, his brand new Ninja was totalled in a (fortunately) low speed get-off on an off chamber, decreasing radius curve. Mericfully, on an infrequently traveled road, so traffic wasnt an issue. This video shows the problem we have today with excellent motorcycles, and riders with poor skills...
