When one looks back at ones career in the arts there are seminal people, people who made a difference not once, not twice, but throughout. Friends upon whom one could count, friends who would cry with you when things were bad, celebrate when things were terrific, and who could give you a boot up the bum when needed, too. One of these people in my life is my friend Ariel Rogers. She did more to help my career all through it than almost anyone else. I taught her piano and some of her family. She entrusted her son Nathans musical education (in one direction, anyway) with me, and made life-long friends of Nathan and me. In fact, I cant imagine not having taught him, as he was one of the finest, most challenging, and most enjoyable students Ive ever had. Its Ariels seventieth birthday today and I want to publicly offer her my thanks and my great congratulations on this special milestone! xxo Beth Cassey Roger Cassey Kate Rogers McLaughlin Dave Rogers Amber Pelletier Violet Gould
