When people are offended at a word of correction, it is usually - TopicsExpress

When people are offended at a word of correction, it is usually true. The offense occurs because of guilt. The following defense of their innocence is simply self-justification. Jesus said, Blessed are those who are not offended in me. When were not offended, two things can be true. One is that we may not be guilty. Secondly, if were humble, we can feel conviction. In both cases, we are blessed. Pride is the source of offense and doesnt feel conviction at all but rather will go to great lengths to defend itself. Jesus did not defend Himself when on trial. May we all come to that place in Christ where humility will reign and corrective words will either convict or bring no offense.
