When people ask why we rescue, why we put our hearts out there knowing it may get hurt; stories like Trellas are the answer. Found starved and living on a chain outside in the Southern tip of Missouri, she had to be treated for heartworms and have her tail amputated. As you can see, she has not only survived but thrived. She now lives a beautiful life in Chicago and her days of neglect are far behind her. Trella and all the dogs like her who deserve happy endings. Thats why rescue. Its why we wont ever stop.
