When people think of Africa, many imagine drought, famine, and poverty—and that’s exactly what we find in Burkina Faso, our destination today on World Prayer Today. Burkina Faso, in West Africa, struggles with overwhelming natural, political, and financial challenges. But, most of all, it’s a spiritual wasteland. But here’s the hope that one listener there found in God: “I was at the lowest point in my life when I found your radio program. I was in darkness walking on the road of self-destruction. The Bible you taught was like a beacon that Jesus lighted on me. He rescued me when I didn’t think I had any hope or meaning in this world. Thank you indeed.”Praise God—there’s hope for Burkina Faso! That’s why we’re entrusting the people around the world, country by country, into God’s hands. He is in control! Tomorrow we travel to the Congo.
