When people voted for change last night, did they realize the change they might get might be at odd with what polls show Americans want? Only 8 percent said they think Congress is doing a good job. Yet they voted for more Republicans to muck it up further. The Kaiser Family Foundation poll in October 2014 showed that 64% of Americans would rather their representative not work to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Yet Republicans have tried to do this over 40 times and will no doubt spend a lot more time trying. Pew Research shows that 73% favor a minimum wage hike from $7.25 to $10.10 and hour, again something the Republicans have blocked. 73% favor allowing illegal immigrants a path to citizenship-another thing Republicans have blocked. It goes on and on. 93% want gun registration and background checks-Republicans strongly against this. The majority want to raise taxes on the wealthy and expand aid to the poor-Republicans strongly against this too. SO WHY WERE PEOPLE STUPID ENOUGH TO VOTE FOR THEM????? 1/3 of Americans voted, so now we have ALL the power going to people who act against the interests of the other 2/3. How stupid.
