When people want to know about what hard work looks like, this is the generation to hear from. Here is my grandfather, Lucius Burger. He would work each day in the Copper Mines. He would wake at 4:00 AM and milk the cows, chop wood and ready his large family for their day. He would then walk miles and miles (Rain, snow, ice or sun) to and from the Copper Mine he worked at from sun up to sun down. He grew crops, grapes, honey, lived in a log cabin with no electricity, running water, heat or air. He fought in the first World War and suffered through the depression. Yet…he loved and provided for his family, sang church hymns on the front porch, and never asked for anyones help. By the way, look at his garden! What an amazing generation of Americans!!
