When planning your wedding, please dont rely on a lookbook of images as proof your proposed supplier can do their job ... its very easy to download even high res images off the web these days! We recently crossed paths with a wedding planner who is purporting to be an expert in her field, yet when questioned by a colleague, admitted to having only planned two weddings! In the past, weve come across photographers who have not had an ounce of experience, downloaded and printed images, set up shop, taken deposits and then done a runner! Weve seen so many truly BAD dresses arriving from offshore, packed in bags so small they wouldnt fit my undies, never mind a wedding gown. Yes, we all have to start somewhere .... but do be careful as to how much trust you put in peoples websites, catalogues, flyers and brochures! Ask to speak to past clients - and actually call those clients! Get personal testimonials from friends. Rely on others within the wedding industry to pass on a referral - chances are, if a cake supplier recommends a florist, theyve seen their work in action! And ... trust your instincts! Generally, if the offer is too good to be true, it usually is!
