When some of my friends ask me about Kurt Cobain and what we did on the night I met him.....Well, I tell them the truth. First of all, he was single. Had not gotten together with Courtney yet....and it was about two days before Nevermind was released.....We talked a LOT about songs. I played him a couple on acoustic including Polaroids by Shawn Colvin (which may or may not have even been out yet), and he flipped over it....and then, we talked a lot about a picture on my wall of Lester Bangs that was taken by a guy named Michael Mayhan that I ripped out of a book called Pumping Irony...Strangely enough, this book was full of photographs of the person that turned the first person named Alice Wheeler on to punk rock photography, and she was one of the first people to take pics of Nirvana. She was also the person who took the picture of me for that krs record (the heart one...the guy on the pic on the amp is Lester Bangs taken by her mentor Michael... Its all pretty weird in that the first cover of my KRS record, I superimposed a picture of a PHOTO that Alice took of me, a photo that Michael took of Lester Bangs on the front of the little amp I was holding, not even knowing the connection. Tonight I found the book, and in it, there is a photo of Quentin Crisp taken by Michael......Life is weird....Anyway...this song here, was the song we both agreed made us go bananas in 8th grade....
