When someone does does something towards you that they regret, and then they beg you not to tell others (in particular a specific other), and you know they are protecting their lies to that other person, and you know that other specific person should know about it, but out of respect for the friendship you agree to remain silent, but then see that the perpetrator is using your good word to continue making comments that you know are directly insulting to you because they trust that your good word on your promise will protect them.... should they be even just a leeeetle bit worried that maybe the abuse of the use of your promise might make it... void? Watch out when you play with fire.
