When someone says I am telling this to you for your own good, it is rarely about my own good. These are the thoughts, today. There certainly are times I know I go off the rails (so to speak) and a gentle nudge one way or the other is a kindness I need - but, most of the time all I need is someone to say, I know youre scared - but, youve been scared before and youve done alright. Dont tell me things for my own good - especially when you havent really taken the time to understand the whats, whys and hows. That you havent come to me without judgement of what you would do in the same situation. That you havent opened your mind to the possibilities that maybe - just maybe - I am walking exactly the road I need to be walking on even if its a road you wouldnt be caught dead walking. Oh, Man. This just may be a Monday best spent backed away from the computer...someone may have to tell me something for my own good.
