When studying the development and education process that Jesus - TopicsExpress

When studying the development and education process that Jesus designed for the 12 in comparison to how the typical minister is prepared for ministry today, our version is laughable. There were obviously protocols, etiquette, skills and focus points that were important to Jesus that are ignored by those that train ministers for today. We have ample education on colors, collars, formalities, sermon development and even the art of water carrying and very little training in the supernatural! This is especially true of the urban church. The apostles clearly had DEMONS and DELIVERANCE as one of their first lessons from Jesus. We know this because several times in the Gospels they were shocked about how regularly Jesus demonstrated the ministry of deliverance as well as the response they saw from demonic powers, once they became engaged in deliverance. This was very early in the apostles careers. Jesus had obviously prepared a large group for deliverance. Consider Luke 10:17 When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name! They were shocked, mainly because of their evident inexperience with demonic forces. Also consider Mark 9:38 John said to Jesus, Teacher, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he wasnt in our group. In their spiritual pubescence and adolescence, they were upset that others were learning how to cast out devils, that werent apart of the 12. Jesus response was powerful and also reveals that casting out demons was a prerogative and campaign of His while on earth. Mark 9:39-40 Dont stop them!...For whoever is not working against us is for us We teach upcoming preachers a bunch of stuff that is NOT important in the Kingdom and consequently they look foolish when trying to approach the forces of darkness. Many of them dont know what to do, so they resort to soulish antics, praise breaks, chanting or other typical responses to avoid embarrassment and the truth of their lack of power being known.
