When the 17thAmendment was passed the states lost a measure of control over the federal government that they were intended to have. State legislatures picked their members of the U.S. Senate and that gave states a way to keep the federal government in check. I believe that it is time to repeal that amendment and return control of the U.S. Senate to the state legislatures. This was an arrangement of powers that was intended by the Founding Fathers which should have been kept. Kevin Bryan
