When the BBC execs announced that they plan to axe BBC 3 to make savings, I don’t think they knew what they were getting themselves in for. A week later and our campaign to Save BBC 3 has taken over the debate. 203,000 signatures opposing the cut, thousands of messages of support using the hashtag #savebbc3, and backing from celebrities like Jack Whitehall, Stephen Fry, Jolyon Rubinstein, Heydon Prowse, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Russell Kane, Jameela Jamil. I could go on…. We’re all standing together and telling the BBC that they’ve got a fight on their hands. Thank you for standing with us. Don’t be fooled by media reports -- even though Tony Hall says he’d like to demote BBC 3 to an online platform, it doesn’t mean it will happen. Yet. The BBC Trust are the decision makers and they have announced that they will be consulting with the public before making a decision. The consultation dates haven’t been announced yet, so until then I need your help to keep the momentum up for the campaign to stop BBC 3 from being axed.
