† When the Music Plays † And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And the herald proclaimed aloud, You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Dan. 3:3-5 ESV Have you ever had something that only popped up at certain times. You were so certain, once again, that you had put this behind you and mastered it, but then you did it again… An interesting part of this story is that they were only required to bow to this golden image when the music played. Ninety-nine percent of the time it was not required and life was normal. It is like a pop test: “Are they ready for the next level? Not yet…” God understands this and is patient with us. It is just a test. When you stumble, get up, repent, and move on, again. Don’t give up on God. Don’t give up on life. One day God will set you free from this and when the music plays, nothing will happen.
