When the Vikings landed and settled in Iceland, in Greenland, and then in Canada (Newfoundland), they met people who lived there, and who the Vikings called Skraelings. Who were those hunter-fishing-gathererer people who spent time in those regions and who moved with the season to hunt different resources at different times of the year? Possible the Skraelings were people from the socalled Dorset culture this article says. Two other North-American people were also present then, the people of the Thule culture, and the people of the Point Revenge culture.
