When the days of the Messiah approach, even the children of the world will be able to discover secrets of Wisdom, and to know through them the Ends and the Calculations, and in that time it will be revealed to all. (Zohar 1:117b-118a) This proof text contradicts the long-standing Rabbinic position that only Jews -- and, at that, only married, male Jews over the age of forty who have studied and mastered all of the Talmud, Midrashim and other works of Torah -- are qualified to learn Kabbalah. First, notice that when the days of the Messiah approach (not necessarily when they are here, but when they approach) -- a time most Orthodox Rabbis would agree is now -- then even the children of the world will be capable of learning and understanding the secrets of Kabbalah. Furthermore, also notice that the text states that these secrets will be revealed to all and not just the descendants of Israel -- which means Gentiles as well as Jews.
