When the election is held in 2015, the President’s term will not - TopicsExpress

When the election is held in 2015, the President’s term will not have ended. He has two more years. At present, Mahinda Rajapaksa was elected through an election, but he took oaths two years later. It was done constitutionally. So Maithripala Sirisena, Chandrika and Ranil should know what the constitution is. I do not know whether they have not thought about it or whether they are saying it regardless. If by chance they do win, Mahinda Rajapaksa will still be President for two more years. That cannot be changed. His term will be intact. -Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka
