When the issue of VAT on bank charges cropped up initially, the Dep. Min of Finance came up defending this ridiculous and insensitive policy with some vodoo distinction between core and non-core financial services. Now the list of bank charges to attract VAT is out and I am asking myself where is the distinction between the core and non-core services? Its obvious the finance ministry and government as a whole have run out of clues to generate funds they have dissipated wantonly without due regard to the repercussions of their actions and are now bent on adopting crude, immoral and inhumane measures to squeeze money from the ordinary Ghanaian. Until this silly VAT on bank charges is withdrawn or repealed, some of us will dig holes and keep our monies in there. As I have stated on previous occasions, the Mahama led administration is one of the worst ( if not the worst) governments weve ever had in this country. Everything about this government is shrouded in deceit. The head of the fish is rotten!!!
