When the shackles of financial restraints, are removed from our Bahamian Citizens, so that Bahamians can fully participate in activities as consumers and or owners, the same as any foreign visitor or investor, then and only then will the Bahamas experience true economic prosperity. Because certain areas of business are prohibited to Bahamians, we can not precisely record our true level of employment. Bahamian Businessmen, who are trying their best to show that they are Good Corporate Citizens, are being vilified, while the foreign investor is being glorified, for doing the same business. Bahamian Businessmen in a certain Business, can not walk into the Banks and conduct their Business, with dignity. (Does this remind anyone of a particular time, of what transpired before Majority Rule?) This to me is beyond disgraceful! God has show the Bahamian People, time and time again, that we are just as good as anyone else, sometimes even better! Through the: Arts and Dramatic Arts, The first Black Oscar Winner, Sports, Thomas A Robinson, Andre Rodgers, Michael Sweet Bells Thompson, The Golden Girls. Tonique Williams Darling, The Golden Knights, in Boxing Elisha OBed, and many many others in the area of sports, The Entertainment Arts Joseph Spence, Freddy Munnings, Penuts Taylor, Wendel Stuart, Tony McKay, Tony Seymour, The Beginning of the End, The T. Connection, Bahamen, Our Bahamas National Youth Chior. Through education, we have 3 Rhode Scholars in a population of less than 1 Million. Coaches, Professors and Deans of Universities abroad. International Cusine Competitions, Chef Devin Johnson and many others. Does that not tell you something people. We have proved ourselves in all of the above areas and more. Yet when we return home, we are reminded to sit small because we are not ready yet, to fully participate in our own economy.
