When the twelve spies were sent into Canaan to spy out the land, - TopicsExpress

When the twelve spies were sent into Canaan to spy out the land, ten returned with a bad report. Their assessment was that it was impossible to conquer the land that God had promised them. Forgetting how God had led them with a pillar of fire by night, and fed them manna from heaven during the day, brought forth water out of a rock, and parted the Red Sea, they saw the situation with only their natural eyes, failed to walk by faith, and succumbed to fear. Joshua and Caleb however, returned with a good report. Refusing to be discouraged by what they saw, they fully trusted that their supernatural God was not going to break His promise to His people, Israel. We are living in days where the world looks bleak, and the evils seem to grow more threatening and dangerous. How will we react? Will we be devastated and terrorized like the 10 spies with a bad report? Or will we do something extraordinary? Will we walk by faith like Joshua and Caleb, trust in the love and power of our God, and seize the opportunities that are at hand? Whose report will you believe? What has the Lord spoken to you? It is so easy to forget what the Lord has spoken to us in our quiet times and seasons with Him, when we come out of the closet to face reality. When I read the bible I realize that nothing was straight forward for the men and women of God. Whether its Abraham or Joseph or Ruth or Paul the apostle. Their faith had to be tested and they came out shining because they chose to believe the report of the Lord over the reality on the ground. Following and believing God will cost you and sometimes many will call you a fool but the rewards are overwhelming because our God is big and He only knows one way to do things BIG! Yes the reality on the ground may not look good and it may seem like a hopeless situation but what did the Lord speak to you? If He said it then it means it will come to pass if only you believe and hold on. Today do not be held down by the reports of men or the situation on the ground. You are more than a conqueror and all things are possible to them that believe. Do you believe that you can be all that God has called you to be irrespective of the reality on the ground? May Joshua and Caleb be our examples of faith and courage in these days. With our God going before us, we also, can take the land, glorifying Him in every battle. Choose to believe and act according to Gods word today irrespective of the reality on the ground. remember the report they brought Moses, We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. Numbers 13:27-28
