I dont know if you will even see this email, or even react to it,but we need help. My husband and I live in Brook Gardens in Hamburg, NY, a mobile home community. In the morning he and a couple guys are going to be go around to assist any they can. There has not been any plows so the roads are full of snow, they are doing this on foot. They will have a ladder to clear out a furnace area so carbon monoxide does not get in the homes. Yesterday he shoveled one off for a woman whos home had carbon monoxide in it. The mayor said will snd us no help in our community because it is a private land and trailer parks are his last concern. We are not a trailer park, we are a manufactured home community. It isnt run down,it doesnt have tin trailers and most homeowners are elderly or families. Nearby towns have homes being robbed for food. My husband and two friends spent 25min to walk 5 houses down because there is 4 ft of snow 6ft because of drifts in some areas. They managed to clear out 7 furnace vents off rooftops in 6 hours.He called the county executive,they said being private land we should call the management. We have management and maintenance are not taking our calls. The county executive said they will send help, but not the National Guard to us, and not for several days. There are 400 people here, many running low on food,milk,bread,formula,medicines. When he asked about emergency services for a hospital they said call 911, maybe they will walk in. He may not be able to get all around without knowing who to go to since again they will be on foot tomorrow,but hes trying. He has Fibromyalgia,memory loss,genetic back disease,and on chemo medicine. There is no charge, they are doing this simply to help, but a lot of people are charging people and refusing help if they dont pay. We cant help everyone,especially now getting this second round,also financially we all have now missed a week of work, you know bills are adding up, and no company will give an extension, Im not asking for money, but maybe food supplies? Maybe an extension or a month relief on utilities? Some of us have used all gas supplies trying to start snowblowers,we have given away food. All we ask is for a little help and not forgotten. Seven have already died how many more have to before something really gets done,maybe send FEMA out? I hope this doesnt get lost to some secretary mailbox,we need help now
