When they called the elections last night I was fired up. Angry - TopicsExpress

When they called the elections last night I was fired up. Angry that democrats lost control of the Senate (I can only imagine what President Obama will have to endure these last two years in office), angry that Bruce Rauner will be the governor of Illinois ( we are in for one hell of a ride), then I began to think we may be down, but we are not out. I dont know if I heard this quote somewhere before or if my mind conjured it up on its on In times of adversity great men and women emerge, and lead their people to victories never before seen. I think of men like Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Steven Biko, women like Fannie Lou Hamer, Harriet Tubman, Mary McLeod Bethune and various others. Where the aforementioned differ from us is they were doers. They stood for their ideologies and were willing to die fighting for a just cause. Today we are full of talkers. We talk the talk, but when its time to walk the walk our favorite reality show is on. A major reason why our political voices arent heard or our concerns are not met is because we fail to raise capital. Here in America money makes things happen. When businesses in our neighborhoods dont perform to our standards the power of our dollars can shut them down. We dont have to stand around and let them sell our children cigarillos, liquor, dope(depending on what store youre at). My purpose of writing that wasnt to degrade anyone or any business, but to shed the light on the fact that we have to stop allowing things to take place in our communities knowing its wrong. Here is where Im going with this, a couple months ago Shericka Armstrong and I put out we starting a scholarship foundation Free To Dream with focus on excellence through education. I am a strong believer that education cant be compromised, and liberation is a human right. The plan to move forward with Free To Dream is stronger than ever. You can donate at gofundme/ds9xx8 5 dollars 10 dollars it all adds up. The more we raise the more children we can help. Outside of dollars I am also looking for people who are ready and willing to join the movement. I am looking for members of the Board, people who can donate time and effort to help fundraise, write grant proposals, spread the word and bring ideas to the table. Im open to suggestions and committed to the cause. No more talking for the sake of talking, lets put the barbershop rhetoric to bed and start making a difference. Serious inquiries message me and we can take this to a place we could only imagine. We dont have to stop at the scholarship level, we raise funds and endorse political candidates who have our best interest at heart, donate to campaigns, we make sure our voices are heard. Its bigger than me but in the words of Mal Gone, Its a movement. Diversity is welcome and sought. Free To Dream will award at least 1 scholarship by the end of this school year. A great friend told me Not everyone will see your vision, thats why God gave it to you. Its not for everyone else. Thanks Venus Griffin ! Anybody that know me know once I have something on my mind I cant stop I must complete the mission. Lords willing Website Coming Soon, Podcast Coming Soon, Google Apps, IOS Apps Free To Dream is a movement. There is no turning back. Octancia Fanci Tanci Adams I need you on this team.
