When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 It is easy to forget that those first Christians who, through the help of God, were instruments of growth for His church on earth, were fishermen, tent makers, tax collectors ... ordinary men. God consistently works with the meek, the underdogs, the oppressed, the ordinary - all for His greater glory. When God chooses you, ordinary no longer applies. I am not saying you become a superhero or better than anyone else, I am just saying that knowing the Lord is transformational. People say that people dont change. Christians know that is not true. When God is allowed into your heart, change is unstopable. When He stirs the spirit inside of you, you will never be the same. When you let Him lead, He does things for you that you could not do for yourself. Out of gratitude, you will want to honor Him. Out of reverence, you will want to share what He has done for you. Out of understanding, you will no longer fear the judgments of the world and only worry about how your actions reflect on Him - as if they could. When His devastating and wonderful perspective change takes hold, fishermen become fishers of men.
