When trees are cut, and the core is rotting away, one may sometimes see remaining that part of the core which fails to rot away quite as fast - I am not sure what their function is, but they do look like a kind of veins, water pipe system kind of thing? In any case, it was for me a rare sight, and very beautiful. It looks like a trapped dragonfly, and I thought somebody had placed it there at first, but no, it clearly grew out of the Wood itself. I love trees, I think they are very interesting creatures and highly intelligent. Even when they are dead. :)
