When tyranny becomes law, resistance becomes duty! -- Thomas Jefferson Thomas Jefferson was one of my favorite founding fathers and past Presidents. Jefferson was acutely aware that given the right circumstance and opportunity, that those entrusted with authority could become abusive of that authority to the point of no longer serving the people, but instead serving themselves. As I look at what has been happening in Washington D.C. in the past several years, it is plainly evident that what Jefferson feared is in fact becoming reality. I would like to assure the good citizens of Owen County, that should you elect me as your sheriff, I will serve the people in said office with the dignity and honor that you expect of a true public servant. I will refuse to enforce unconstitutional laws that come from D.C. that are aimed at depriving We the People of our inalienable rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights of our Constitution! I want to serve as your sheriff and will be happy to answer any questions concerning my plans to improve service to the people of Owen County from your sheriffs dept. Rick Poe Sr.
