When was the first time you understood a song about love? Why does - TopicsExpress

When was the first time you understood a song about love? Why does it hurt to accept that logic has little to nothing to do with love. If logic ruled us, no one would fall in love. My psychology professor will win every argument with me about how neuroscientists believe that love is just one more chemical reaction taking place in the brain and how researchers have found that hormones such as vasopressin and oxytocin are involved in the lifelong bonding of male and female prairie voles. End of argument; we are like rats and love is just a chemical, fine! There are many kinds of love. We say we love dogs, and that is possible. We care for them. We spend time with them, but our affection for them doesnt exceed our love for our families. We love other people and we might go out of our way to show others we care, but most of us would do more for our children than we would for others. No matter what kind of love we have, it is limited. We are finite; compared to God, we are capable of offering only a small amount of love. Maybe thats why it is sometimes hard to understand the love of God. Romans 5:7-8 offers a glimpse into the depth of Gods love: It is unusual for anyone to die for a godly person. Maybe someone would be willing to die for a good person. But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. All the love in my heart (or brain) doesnt come close to even the portion of love God has for me. How we receive Gods love is the issue, not religion. https://youtube/watch?v=a2YMLQ6sCJc
