When we are growing in our walk with God, He promotes us to new - TopicsExpress

When we are growing in our walk with God, He promotes us to new assignments, new relationships, new authority. He expands our influence to accomplish His purpose in us. However, those people around us who are not moving forward - either because they are not Christians or because they are stagnate Christians - will attempt to hold us back from moving in this direction. Look at how the people who grew up with Jesus responded to Him... The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” (John 6:41-42 NKJV) These precious people simply cannot see us in the present - the way God sees us. We are locked in time at a certain age or season of life. They just cant grasp the amazing things God is doing in our life at the moment. It really is okay, though. Living a life of faith and according to Gods leading and direction shouldnt be expected to be embraced by the masses. But Jesus had a particular response to this group that we would do well to emulate... Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.” (John 7:28-29 NKJV) Jesus response was, I know Him, I am from Him, and He sent me. Thats all that matters. If we know our God intimately, that in and of itself is indicative of a great divide between Christians on fire and lukewarm Christians. People, even Christians, who dont truly have a connection with God can be easily deceived. So their perception is skewed about the reality of Gods Kingdom. But second here, Jesus stated that He is from Him. When Jesus wipes away the stain of sin and saves us, we have a new birthday. We have new life. We are now in Christ. God is our Father and we are eternal beings here on earth. We are from God. He is the Source of all life. That gives us strength and confidence to overcome and pursue Gods best! Third, Jesus said, He sent me. This is by far the greatest revelation we could have - that where I am today is not the result of my shrewdness or mans wisdom. I am here in this season because God sent me here. When we have a word from God and the blessing of spiritual authority and accountability which confirms our being sent of God, we can boldly move forward into the purpose of God, regardless of the jealousy and insecurity of others. We know Him, we are from Him, and we are sent by Him.
