When we bought our house the side porch had been covered in windows. The upper porch is nice, with the slanted planks and I really wanted to open it back up, but space being needed, my husband tore the entire back side of the house down and rebuilt the walls. We painted a few of the windows to match the trim and replaced some and kept the others for spares.We bought a screen door and painted as well. When we bought the house the trim had not been painted for at least 25 years. To date we still have some painting to do, a work in progress as always. It took us a year to decide ( my husband is laughing,,, he said it took ME a year to decide ).. on how to design and work the side without losing the victorian feel. Home sweet home. The neighbors were happy to see someone improve on it.
