When we demand that politicians take action to end the crisis at the Royal, the reply is often We have no money Our hands are tied. It reminds me that its just over a year ago that the G8 came to the North. Roads were repaved, millions were spent on hospitality, makeshift prisons were built, millions spent on a ridiculously large police operation. All in all, at least £60 million was spent on winning and dinning the rich and powerful. We have no money our hands are tied. Truth be told, when it came to the G8 it was money no object, but when it comes to protecting our frail and vulnerable the money just isnt there. Funny that.
