When we eat from nature, which was given to us for our survival - TopicsExpress

When we eat from nature, which was given to us for our survival and sustenance, we are imbibing all of creation, which is extremely powerful. When you eat from a fig tree, you are taking in all the cosmic energies that fed the tree—the sun energies, the earth energies, and the water energies. We are taking in the life force of all creation as we eat That and are filled by That; we are not taking in death. We are linking to the web of life in this dualistic plane. In our plant foods we take in the orchards, the fields, the forests, the cycles, the seasons, the energies of those who are organically farming and reaping with love. Sometimes people argue, “Well, plants have feelings.” And truly, they do have feelings—we know this from the research outlined in The Secret Life of Plants. They do not, however have developed nervous systems as animals do. On a “bigger” level, the amount of food, such as the amount of grain required to produce meat, eggs, dairy, and farmed fish, is vastly more than that needed for the plant food, such as grain, directly. Thus a much lower volume of plants is killed to support a vegan diet than for a meat-centered diet. Ninety percent of the protein is lost when it is passed through animals, and 95–100% of carbohydrates and fats is lost. Flesh eating in this context is a hoarding of resources on all levels.
