When we expose our thoughts to God’s Word, it sanctifies our minds. It brings us light and helps us see. The Truth sets us free! We’re all familiar with those famous words of Jesus as found in John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” But let’s take a moment and step back and read the verse just before it. Right before Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” he said this in John 8:31 “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” And that’s the key my friends – the truth found in God’s word will set us free when we abide in it. You’ve got to get God’s Word inside of you. You’ve got to fill your heart and mind with God’s Word and let it live in you. The truth won’t set you free if you don’t believe it. The truth won’t set you free if you don’t accept it. The truth won’t set you free if you don’t accept it and love it and embrace it. The truth will only set you free when you reject the lies and embrace the truth of God’s Word. Let it abide in you and you in it.
