When we fully understand that we are Gods children , we will learn to see all that happens to us as lessons from Heavenly Father to train us in holiness. We will see our adverse circumstances as opportunities to draw even closer to Him and to experience His love and grace in new and deeper ways. The attitude of thanksgiving springs from the will to see the good in every situation. Praise is not just a pious formula to get God to do our will. It is a reflection of our desire to delight in the will of God. It is the expression of a grateful heart for the costly gifts of Jesus death on the cross to redeem us from evil and death. The hope of the ungrateful melts like winter frost and flows away like water running to water. When we turn our eyes to the cross of Christ , our hearts will be filled with love and gratitude for Jesus and our mouths filled with songs of thanksgiving. Our lives will become sacrifices of praise when our grey years are transformed into grateful years.
