When we got Denali, he was at risk of being euthanized for - TopicsExpress

When we got Denali, he was at risk of being euthanized for aggression, was nervous of everything, very low energy and not very social. Well, he is admittedly a foster failure, but today, hes happy, loves our other dogs and even cats, plays with even the youngest and loves to put his face against mine so I can rub his ears. When we got Roxy, she was terrified of abandonment. She wouldnt even leave my side for me to go to the bathroom. She didnt play with the other dogs, and if I had to leave the house for and time period (5 minutes or 5 hours), she sat at the door and cried. Yesterday I visited her at her adopted families home just 3 days after they adopted her. She was playing with their young boy, tearing through the house, playing with her toys. The day I got Yoshi (and a couple days, at least, after) none of us could even touch him without coming up a finger short. We didnt think he was even adoptable. He growled at the other dogs, growled at all men, growled at his own tail if he saw it out of the corner of his eye! Today, he hardly ever growls, and only if hes done playing with the younger dogs. He comes to us for love, crawls in our laps, and will lay his head in your hand to get you to pet him. Best of all, hes ready to be adopted!!! He will still growl and nip if you try to spank him; he DOES NOT like to be hit and we dont blame him!! I use a water spray bottle of he needs discipline and it works like a charm!!! ;-) Very little gives me more pleasure than taking these dogs who are not the most adoptable, have behavior issues, are old, or not the cute puppies everyone wants and turning them into wonderful, loving pets for LUCKY families only!!! And I am grateful for very little more than the rescues that help me to do this! Without them, The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Companion Pet Rescue of Middle Tennessee, Willys Happy Endings, MCFOTS, Cats Are Us, Big Fluffy Dogs, Two Ladies Caring, and several more, it wouldnt be possible!! PLEASE consider fostering for a rescue and giving a pet who deserves it, a fighting chance!! Without you, they may not have any chance at all!!!!!
