When we plant a tulip bulb, we see that it is small and brown. We don’t criticize it for not being big, colorful and flashy. We treat it as a bulb and give it water and nourishment required of bulbs. When its first little green tips shoot up out of the earth, we do not condemn it as immature or underdeveloped, nor do we criticize the stem and bud for not being open when they appear. Instead, we stand in wonder at the process taking place. We give the plant the nurture it needs at each stage of development. We know the tulip that it is from the time it is bulb until the time it dies. Within it at all times, it contains its full potential. Like tulips, we spend a good deal of time in process. It takes a bigger perspective to see the work we do being of any value, and it is even harder to see the powers of heaven magnifying our efforts. Perhaps we should consider ourselves as if we were tulips. Instead of becoming impatient with ourselves as we overcome weaknesses or neglecting to appreciate the good that is in us, let‘s just stand in wonder and rejoice at the process that is taking place. ~~~~ your thoughts?
