When we talk about DEPRESSION, we are referring to a constant and PERSISTENT STATE of being, not a single emotion. Just as depression is characterized by a spectrum of NEGATIVE feelings such as sadness, fear, anxiety, loneliness, and shame, HAPPINESS is a state characterized by a spectrum of POSITIVE emotions like joy, hope, excitement, love, and pride. Happiness is not fleeting, nor is depression. Therefore, they are ACCUMULATED, and take time to develop. Happiness is something that can become richer and richer over time--and so too can depression. Both are EARNED, so you can either accumulate more and more reasons to hate yourself and your life, or more and more reasons to LOVE yourself and your life. THE CHOICE IS UP TO YOU, your ACTIONS will pave your path in life.
