When we were kids my momma would load us up in her old Oldsmobile we named Bethany. Momma said a car that ugly had to have a pretty name. Shed roll us through the Appalachian mountains to see my grandparents for Christmas. Excitement filled our old car as we listened to music and sang songs cheering on Bethany to hold steady and make it up the mountains. Id step onto their old front porch & instantly my body felt safe, we were home. My Grandparents made every thing right & were the foundation in our lives. Its because of my Mommas family that I survived & became this person. My Poppy passed away last December & this would be Grandmas first xmas alone in 68 years. Thats never gonna happen. Just as they didnt leave us without my sister Nicole is in Florida, loading Grandma & her cat Kiki up right now & rolling her to Nashville to spend the Holidays with us. My heart is full of the same excitement as when I was a kid. Its been a rough year & I am so blessed to have my family here. #timeisquick #receivinglifesgifts #merryxmas
