When we write to you, we always ask ourselves this – What would we tell our boyfriend, our spouse, our sister, our dad about this show? What would we tell someone we love about something we love? For LeeSaar’s newest dance, “grass and jackals”, we would say this: We would tell our boyfriend that it’s like a Quentin Tarantino film, but with dance. We would tell our spouse that the dancers are fiercely committed, focused, and move like a house on fire. We would tell our sister that it gets to the heart of the heart of being a woman, rising like the phoenix as global boundaries collapse and implode. We would tell our dad that if he really loved us, he would take us to this show, and even though he is only doing it to make us happy, he would have an unexpectedly awesome time.
