When will eyes be open, to see what we’ve done wrong When will minds be open, to sing a different song When will hearts be open, to show the world some care When will hands be open, to do more than our share The petty things that get to us, is really very sad When a cup of clean water will make someone very glad We’ve been blessed beyond measure, Yet so much goes to waste What we think is not good enough Would be another’s treasure When will eyes be open, to see what we’ve done wrong When will minds be open, to sing a different song When will hearts be open, to show the world some care When will hands be open, to do more than our share It’s time we wake up, get down on our knees and pray a fervent prayer Do our part to change the world, if only we would dare Getting rid of hate and poverty may seem a large task But God is big and will lead if only we would ask We must hold hands and reach out far and wide And hope and pray that someday only love abides.
