When will we ever learn that we cannot save ourselves? When will we ever learn that we cannot make ourselves overcomers? When will we ever learn that we cannot bring ourselves into the likeness of God? When will we ever learn that we cannot bring ourselves into Victory? Carnal man is always trying to ORGANIZE himself. There is no self-effort that a man can do… to bring himself in the things of God. When are we going to realize that it is God that does the Work within us? What part do we have in the circulating of the blood in us? What part do we have in keeping up the rhythm of our heart? When will we realize that we were even born by the WILL of ANOTHER? Every organ of our body has been given us. Every function of our bodies has been arranged for us. Every brain… every nerve… every thought… every sensation… every will… every conscience… all has been provided for us… READY MADE. But yet … when it comes to our spiritual life… we wish to ORGANIZE ourselves. We… who cannot even make a fingernail grow on ourselves. We… who cannot even add a cubit to our statue. Listen to what God says in His Word…. “Begotten of God”….. The new man which is RENEWED in knowledge after the image of Him that “CREATED HIM”… or this… We are CHANGED into the same image or this… “Until Christ BE FORMED in you… or except a man is BORN AGAIN…. Of water and Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Note… there is one verse that .. AT FIRST… to contradict all this… (Where many make a mistake) “Work out you OWN SALVATION with fear and trembling… BUT IF YOU READ ON… the very next verse… he adds… FOR IT IS GOD WHICH WORKETH IN YOU both to WILL and to DO of HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Phil. 2:12-13. We have to realize that is THE LORD DOINGS. “LET us make man in OUR image and after our likeness”. There is a VALID reason why SALVATION is of the LORD… It could not be otherwise… Man did not even choose to be. It was God who said… “Let us make man”. It was God that placed man in Eden. It was God who arranged the circumstances and choices in Eden. It was God who planted the tree of Life… and it was ALSO GOD… who planted the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It was God who created the serpent… It was God who placed man UNDER the LAW... in the Old Testament… “Thou shall not eat of it”. And it was God … when man sinned (and God was not surprised… Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world.) .. It was God that drove him out of the garden. It was God that drove man out… and shut him OFF FROM LIFE. This is why SALVATION must be of the Lord. It is GOD... Himself…. That WILL BRING US BACK IN… to EAT of LIFE. He who drove you out… out of Eden… is He who will usher you back in. It is God who is chargeable for our spiritual growth and development. When we YIELD ourselves… to the MIGHTY power of His Word… “It is God which WORKETH in us… both to will and to do. In all our lives… with all of it demands… and duties… all its needs… all its pressures… and all its claims. LET US SAY… “God BE EVERYTHING”. Although the work is of God… there is only one small requirement of man… We have seen that it is God that has BIRTHED us… God who is chargeable for our growth… God has done the LARGER part for us… the breathing… the secreting, the circulating of the blood… the building up of the organism… the part that man plays is MINOR… MAN HAS TO EAT. (Without it... we cannot have life) Without man EATING… nothing can be done… Let us CHOOSE LIFE… EAT LIFE… let us daily nourish on life… let us forever starve the OLD MAN… the old life… the carnal mind… by feeding on the HIDDEN MANNA… The spiritual FOOD. It is God’s will…. For us to abide together… we shall abide in Him… and eat of Him as OUR TREE of LIFE…and God Himself shall do the rest…. It is God … who must admit us to His Presence… and make His face shine upon us. It is God ... who must write His law in our hearts. It is God who must give us a NEW NATURE… that it is He that works WITHIN US... both to will and do. God, by His Spirit that sheds abroad HIS LOVE IN OUR HEARTS. It is God who makes us have the nature of righteousness… that to be righteous is as natural as breathing. It is God Himself…. Who so clothe us with the MIND of CHRIST. … That to think the thoughts of God becomes as natural to us as are self-serving thoughts and desires to the unregenerate man. It is God that DIRECTS our STEPS. He who has directed all our steps… who has initiated every circumstance of our lives… who has opened our blinded eyes... and caused us to behold the majesty of His Kingdom and Glory. Is it not … God Himself… who has let us out of the blinding traditions and bondages of Babylonian religion and has nurtured us and brought us to the statue in which we stand in Christ today? We… who without strength… can no more save ourselves than we can make ourselves overcomers. For it is GOD THAT DOETH THE WORK…. All we can do… IS EAT… EAT of our HEAVENLY FATHER… EAT of LIFE. The HIDDEN MANNA of HIS WORD…
