When writing notes on dogs in a pound environment that are to be used publicly, please remember that youre only helping if youre writing what you observe, and are recognising your own understanding of canine behaviour. You can potentially put a dog in danger when you make guesses about its past, state YOUR ideals about who will adopt that dog, and make recommendations that actually limit its options. Sometimes a dog is better off having no volunteer notes than notes from people who believe they can sum up a dogs past, present, and future after spending ten minutes with it.
