When you adopt a dog, it is for LIFE. Not for as long as you think you can handle it. Or until it isnt a puppy anymore. Or until it gets sick, or old. These dogs (and Harley before) have torn up my yard, carpet, couches, blankets, curtains, table legs, towels. They have peed on things, pooped on things, puked on things, and some of these things being human. They have nipped a little to hard, scratched my face, given me a fat lip and a black eye. They have barked at anything and everything. Oh I could go on. But, you know what. I signed up for this. They arent easy, but who or what is? They are my kids. Would you just dump your kid if they did these things? I would like to think not. Take the time. Do the work. These dogs want nothing but love. And in my opinion, they live too short of a life. All these bad things are replaced with a tail wag, a kiss, a snuggle, a tear lick...and so much more. So think about all of this before you adopt a dog. They are so much more than the mischief they get into. They are a living breathing creature that deserves all the love in the world. Do for them what they do for you.
