When you are drowning at the beach, the lifeguard comes to your rescue immediately as soon as you call out to him/her. There is no set of requirements you must first fulfill before s/he comes to you to save you. No rituals, no dress code, no interviews. So it is with Christ Jesus, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." And He will come to you, where you are, just as you are, and be your salvation. The abundant life you will find afterward comes as a result of the salvation, the new life, you have been GIVEN by our Lord. A word of advice: live it well.
