When you carry enough political clout behind you that you can get totally outclassed in every round and STILL have one judge credit you with a draw against Floyd Mayweather, I see it as an extremely stupendous task for anyone (whos name isnt Floyd Mayweather) to get a points decision over Canelo Alvarez. Golden Boys golden boy is the hottest property in boxings biggest market, the hispanic contingent, and call me cynical, but if you dont knock him out, youre going home with an L on your record , deserved or not. For me Erislandy Lara wins this fight. I think he is too slick and technically accomplished for Canelo and I think hell realistically deserve a reasonably wide margin on the cards maybe around 116-112. However, I do NOT think he will get the decision and it will be Alvarez hand raised at the end. Yes, Lara is also a Golden Boy fighter, but he doesnt have a fraction of the marketability or commercial appeal as Canelo. So ultimately I predict a controversial decision to go Canelos way, with Lara being the victim of a poor decision....
