When you come from a broken home there is a tendency to reach out to find that connection....a connection like family and you find that in your friends and their families. You witness a bond that isnt there with your family. For me I was blessed to find so many incredible friends and become extensions of their families. The first time this happened for me was with my friend Darik Klepper, we spent many years practically inseparable during that time he became more of a brother to me then my own flesh a blood could ever have. We bicker like brothers, we celebrated like brother and unfortunately as we grew older our lives drifted away like brothers often do. Today I sit here with tears down my face because my brother has just been told he is about to go through the hardest thing he will ever face. His grandmother, who over the years became a grandmother to myself and many of our friends, was diagnosed with lung cancer and has very little time....she being the incredibly strong woman she is has chose to fight....and in that fight he will stand next to her and next to him will be me and every brother and sister Darik has....we are here and will be with you every step of the way. I love you Grams...
