When you do something you regret, you dont have to blame or punish - TopicsExpress

When you do something you regret, you dont have to blame or punish yourself. Instead: You can *notice* what part of your process you want to change, make a *plan* to modify that process (so you behave the way you intend to next time), and give *thanks* that you have learned something important. Life is all about learning anyway, not about perfection and blaming for failures. Example: On the weekends I have some time set aside for what I call Mindful Activism. Because its something Im trying to figure out, I tend to procrastinate on it. This morning I had planned to spend 2 hours doing Mindful Activism but have now spent an hour checking Facebook, following links, etc. I caught myself starting to blame / internally punish myself. I instead said this to myself: Ive become conscious of where my process isnt working. I need to get right into my Mindful Activism when Ive planned to do it, and carve out a Time Limited Window later in the day to do that other stuff (Facebook etc) or set a 5-minute timer now if I really need to check it, then get on with my Mindful Activism. Thank you for this learning! I hope this is helpful to you as well.
